Storing Solutions

After using cleaning and saline solutions, correct contact lens care continues with the storing solution (also called conditioner). Storing solutions serve to keep the contact lens hygienic and to guarantee its moistening. It is important to know that the storing solution does not disinfect, as it only prevents the contact lens from bacterial attacks after disinfection. Soft contact lenses are mostly preserved in all-in-one solutions but storing solutions make sense for rigid contact lenses. Although it is possible to store them dry, using a storing solution is more hygienic, much safer and also retains wettability. This improves wearing comfort and vision after putting them in.
