Rigid Contact Lenses
Compared to soft contact lenses, rigid contact lenses are less flexible and therefore sometimes called hard contact lenses. Rigid contact lenses are smaller than soft contact lenses, which means they are movable as they are literally sliding on the tear film. This is known to be very healthy for the eye, as the contact lens is always bathed by tear fluid supplying nutrients to the eye. The disadvantage of rigid contact lenses is that they can be more intrusive when worn for the first time when compared to soft contact lenses. However, this feeling usually subsides after around 30 minutes and is counterbalanced with the advantage of having an excellent supply of oxygen.

Rigid contact lenses are not available at Lensplaza, as they require an individual fitting by an optician.
Especially Important: The Correct Care Of Your Lenses
Whether you choose soft, rigid or multifocal contact lenses, hygiene and cleaning should not be neglected. To ensure that no pollutants or deposits develop on the contact lens surface, thorough contact lens care is crucial. However, the more often contact lenses are disposed of and exchanged for new contact lenses, the less care effort is required. Correct contact lens care is of immense importance and a selection of different contact lens care products can be found in the solutions-catalog.
