Acuvue Advance Lenses
Important information about Acuvue Advance lenses by Johnson & Johnson
The manufacturer of the Acuvue Advance series, Johnson & Johnson, recently decided not to produce these lenses anymore. The end of production will be in the year 2015 for the Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism toric lenses and 2016 for the Acuvue Advance spherical lenses. Johnson & Johnson recommends switching to the Acuvue Oasys lenses. This can easily be done without a new adjustment by your optician.
Advantages of the contact lenses from the Acuvue Advance series by Johnson & Johnson
Acuvue Advance contact lenses are spherical weekly lenses which correct for common far- and near-sightedness. Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism lenses are the toric counterpart for people with astigmatism. The lenses give you an outstanding, enhanced wearing comfort and support an active lifestyle of young people who want to wear their contact lenses frequently. Their high UV protection is great for outdoor-wearing and the easy handling makes them a good choice for first-time wearers.
Technology of the contact lenses from the Acuvue Advance series
The patented HYDRACLEAR® Technology ensures a soft and wettable contact lens as well as a uniquely pleasant feeling. The silicone-hydrogel material supplies the eye with high levels of oxygen and thus provides high compatibility. The lenses of the Acuvue Advance family have feature extremely high UV protection. Above 90% of the UV-A and 99% of the UV-B radiation are absorbed.
Handling of the contact lenses from the Acuvue Advance series
Both Acuvue Advance and Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism contact lenses are weekly lenses. Usually, weekly contact lenses are used daily. They are cleaned and stored after each use in order to keep them hygienic and soft. They can be used up to 14 days. After this time, the lenses have to be disposed. Acuvue weekly lenses are certified for an extended continuous wear of up to seven days and six nights, so you do not have to take them out before going to bed. The cleaning process thus can be skipped. Most eyes tolerate this wearing behavior, although you should consult your optician for qualified advice. The flexibility they provide and their enhanced wearing time make weekly lenses from Acuvue your perfect choice for short trips or daily use
